I am a Masters Level Clinical Social Worker and have State of Michigan licensure. I received my degree from Michigan State University and have over 30 years of experience as a clinical social worker providing counseling and therapeutic services for individuals, families and couples.

I use an eclectic therapeutic approach. I believe an integrated approach best supports personal growth. I lean toward psychoanalytical and humanistic approaches, combined with supports of cognitive behavioral and non-traditional/creative styles.

True change usually happens when we access the logical and emotional side of the brain together. Non-traditional therapies such as Sandplay, Art, Experiential and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) help to integrate sub-conscious and unconscious thoughts and behaviors with our conscious thoughts and behaviors. Simply put, the head and the heart connect fully bringing about true change.

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy useful with clients who have experienced some type of psychological or physical trauma. However, it is used with a variety of therapeutic concerns.

I have extensive training in sandplay with children, adults, families and groups. Sandplay with children and adults provide opportunities to explore thoughts and feelings in non-traditional ways that are less threatening then direct discussion.

As a therapist, I strive to assist clients in changing negative behaviors that hinder their success. My overall passion is to encourage, empower and support others as they follow the journey of their heart.
